FALL AIKEN STEEPLECHASE 2022

Dear Equestrians,
I got the opportunity to attend the Fall Aiken Steeplechase and it was definitely a new and exciting experience. If you don’t know what a ‘Steeplechase’ is it is a “distance horse race where competitors are required to jump a variety of fence and ditch options. So, it is basically horse racing but with jumps in the way.
My boss and her fiancé got a tailgate spot and we were directly next to a jump. It made the experience 10x better when the races started and I could listen to the satisfying sound of the horses galloping up to the jump and brushing against it.
Along with the races, there was also a hat competition, a costume competition (because of Halloween), and a stick horse race. It was quite the event! In the main strip of the event, they had vendors, pet adoptions, and live entertainment. Overall I say it was a great first experience and they are having another one in the spring! Which I will definitely be going to as I would love to participate in the hat competition along with whatever other competitions for spectators they will be having.
